Photography

Photography is the art, science, and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film. It is employed in many fields of science, manufacturing photolithography, and business, as well as its more direct uses for art, film and video production, recreational purposes, hobby, and mass communication.

A camera is a device used to capture images, either as still photographs or as moving images such as videos or movies. The term camera comes from the camera obscura (Latin for "dark chamber"), an early device for projecting images. The modern camera evolved from the camera obscura. The functioning of the camera is very similar to the human eye. The eye captures light and converts it into an image on the retina, while the camera captures light and records it on a light-sensitive medium such as film or a digital image sensor. A key development in the history of photography was the introduction of the daguerreotype in 1839, which greatly reduced the exposure time needed for photography.
